VF Partner Surgeons Discuss Robotic Surgery Issues for Women
13 March 2024
While women are considered very important in Indian homes, sometimes their access to the benefits of robotic surgery are limited, both through gender bias within household budgets, and the limited knowledge of robotic surgery's availability for female procedures. India Blooms, a popular e-publication, recently published an article describing this issue, with the help of some Vattikuti Foundation partner surgeons.
Dr. Anshumala Shukla-Kulkarni tells the publication: “Addressing this awareness gap is crucial for promoting the wider acceptance of this advanced surgical approach,”
Dr. Rooma Sinha says: "Despite the growing number of women taking up robotic surgery there is a scope for improvement as the costs come down..."
Dr. Sandeep Nayak discusses cosmetic reasons for some robotic thyroid procedures, and Vattikuti Foundation CEO Dr. Mahendra Bhandari talks about the significant improvement in return-to-normalcy benefits women can often receive through surgical robotics.
