Vattikuti Explorers

The Vattikuti Explorers program is designed for medical students who are passionate about healthcare innovation and eager to expand their education beyond the traditional curriculum.

Participants gain exposure to advanced surgical technologies, hands-on learning opportunities, and mentorship from leading innovators in medicine. The program connects students with experts across multiple disciplines, providing valuable insights into innovation, research, and the future of healthcare.

More than a résumé builder, Vattikuti Explorers offers an opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and professional network needed to become a leader in medical innovation. Building on the Vattikuti Foundation's longstanding commitment to advancing robotic surgery and surgical education, the program identifies and nurtures promising students with a passion for creativity, discovery, and transformative thinking.

Whether your interests lie in surgery, technology, research, or entrepreneurship, Vattikuti Explorers provides a unique platform to explore new ideas, collaborate with pioneers, and help shape the future of medicine.

Application Fee: $10 USD.

What benefits are there for me?

The benefit of becoming a Vattikuti Explorer is that the Vattikuti Foundation will provide you with different opportunities that most medical students would not be exposed to during their school career.

In-person opportunity

The Jr. Orsi Summer School program will be held 18-19 August 2026. The Vattikuti Foundation has eight spots for medical students interested in robotic surgery for a hands-on and didactic sessions. The application process is closed and the eight students have been selected. Congratulations! See more on the Vattikuti Foundation’s social media pages for more information.

During this 2-day symposium, global experts in robotic surgery and neurology will come together to share innovative uses of technology and procedures. The Explorers will have dedicated presentation time at this conference and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on 21 February 2027.
