Former Vattikuti Fellow Recognized for Excellent Video
29 March 2024
Dr. Aditya Kulkarni has earned recognition from the Poona Surgical Society for the second year in-a-row! His video, ‘Robotic Hiatus Hernia Repair with Fundoplication,’ won their Best Video Award. It is a study of a difficult procedure to correct a hiatal hernia in a 32- year-old man. Dr. Kulkarni used the da Vinci Si Robotic System to perform the procedure. The video takes a detailed look at his work.
The Poona Surgical Society is a long-time group of surgeons from Pune, India, where Dr. Kulkarni practices at the OASIS Clinic and Ruby Hall Clinic. Their mission is to both share information among specialties, but also support younger surgeons. Last year, he earned top honors from the PSS for another video. He has also collaborated with other former Vattikuti Fellows to have research articles published in the Journal of Robotic Surgery.
Last October, Aditya was honored as one of the ten Finalists in the KS International Innovation Awards, sponsored by the Vattikuti Foundation. His video ‘Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome: Robotic Celiac Axis Release and Celiac Plexus Neuralysis’ was presented to the attendees of the Humans at the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery Symposium in Ghent, Belgium and at the ORSI Academy in Melle.
As one can tell from the above accolades, Dr. Kulkarni is actively involved in the advancement of robotic surgery following his training as a Vattikuti Fellow under Dr. Ashwini Kudari at Narayana Health City, Narayana. Through his many relationships developed with other Vattikuti Fellows, he continues his research as an inquisitive practitioner and leader. All of us at the Vattikuti Foundation extend our congratulations to him on yet another well-deserved award.
