AUA Humanitarian Award Winner has ties to VF CEO

“It truly brings me joy in knowing that my friend and colleague, Dr. Syed Adibul Hasan Rizvi, has been recognized by the American Urological Association for his accomplishments,” says VF CEO Dr. Mahendra Bhandari. Dr. Rizvi is founder of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) Hospital in Pakistan, South Asia’s largest public healthcare facility with the mission: 'healthcare for all, free with dignity.’ In 2022, SIUT served over 3.3 Million patients.

Dr. Rizvi’s son, Dr. Irfan Rizvi, was there on behalf of his father to accept the award, presented at the AUA annual convention in San Antonio, Texas this past weekend. From the AUA release: “The Urology Care Foundation, the world's leading nonprofit urological health foundation and official foundation of the American Urological Association, is pleased to announce Syed Adibul Hasan Rizvi, FRCS, as the recipient of its 2024 Humanitarian Recognition Award. This award is granted to an individual who embodies the essence of philanthropy through their demonstrated commitment to humanitarian endeavors… His humanitarian work and advancements in transplant surgery make him a true inspiration.”

Dr. Mahendra Bhandari was included in a publication from SIUT a few years ago, and has known air Rizvi for 40-years. All of us at the Vattikuti Foundation join in congratulating Dr. Syed Adibul Hasan Rizvi, FACS, not only for the AUA honors, but for his fantastic work.
