Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a device which analyzes slow-motion video of a person's face to diagnose high blood pressure and the potential for diabetes. Fierce Biotech reports that the results of their AI-powered video device were presented in Chicago at the annual scientific sessions of the American Heart Association.
The device reportedly was over 90% accurate in detecting hypertension, and 75% accurate in detecting both type 1 & 2 diabetes. Individuals deliberately avoiding invasive tests could benefit from this technology, according to one of the authors.
