Chinese teams at three universities have collaborated to produce skin patches that not only are used in conjunction with controlling a remote robot by transmitting their body movements, but also receive haptic responses from similar patches placed upon the robot.
This development has been reported in the online news service Tech Xplore. While it may be too early to learn whether these devices will be interfaced with surgical robotic devices, we will be watching to see more from these teams.
