Vision

To empower societies with information and resources in order to help people to improve their lives. The Vattikuti Foundation is working to provide members of communities with the ability to take charge of their health and resources and to use them to their full potential.

Mission

The Foundation aims to bring meaning to human lives through social empowerment, leveraging technology, surgical innovation and education; We, as co-creators of robotic surgery, have helped to fill in the space between technology and its ultimate purpose to improve the quality of human lives.

The Vattikuti Fellowship: Objective

The objective of the Vattikuti Foundation Fellowship Program is to create highly trained Indian surgeons in the field of robotic surgery by providing one-year Fellowships. The intent is that when the Fellowships conclude, our Vattikuti Fellows will be able to safely undertake robotic surgery in their chosen field independently and will have met the requirements to earn various surgical certifications on different surgical systems. Another aspect of these Fellowships is to advance the academic research abilities of our Fellows.

Our Mentor Surgeons volunteer to be a part of this program. In addition to the intensive robotic surgery training, each Fellow is responsible for participating in the Foundation's VCQI Robotic Surgery Database Program. They also are encouraged to present and/or publish in national and international specialty conferences and journals.

What does the Vattikuti Fellowship offer?

The Vattikuti Fellowship Alums

What They Have To Say?

Dr Shabnam Bashir

Consultant Oncologist, Batch of 2016

To be honest, getting associated with Vattikuti Foundation has proven to be a turning point in my professional life. The mentorship , guidance and support from Dr Mahendra Bhandari and the whole VF has been stupendously huge and has shaped my career. The most amazing thing about VF is that they don't just stop at providing us the opportunities for Robotic training but also provide a persistent support to push our limits and get settled in our career path. I can't thank VF enough for what they have done for me. And now getting the opportunity to be a part of VF Alumni is a great honour for me. This would give us a chance to guide our youngsters and also be apart of all academic and patient education activities of the Vattikuti foundation.

Dr Ashwin Tamhankar

HOD Apollo Navi Mumbai, Batch of 2016

The Vattikuti Foundation fellowship with Dr Gagan Gautam was a paradigm shift in my career. It gave me the opportunity to garnish my training by consolidating my urooncology training at Tata Memorial Hospital and Royal College of Surgeons of England Robotic Fellowship at Lister Hospital, UK subsequently. The VF also gave me the platform for the perfect balance of clinical work as well as academics and it has certainly changed my orientation of looking at the work profile for myself. Currently I am leading the urooncology and robotic surgery program at Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai and trying my level best to take up things forward both clinically and academically.
