Anesthesia in Robotic Surgery

 

For the first half of the Anesthesia in Robotic Surgery session at the Robotic Surgeons Council of India, Dr. Sangeeta Khanna, Associate Director of the Medanta Institute of Critical Care & Anesthesia talked about Evolution, Challenges and the Way Forward. Having one team in the OT is a way to achieve greater efficiency, according to Khanna. Using lower volumes of liquid being delivered to patients also is showing benefits, she reports. A concern when using the Trendelenburg position is damage to the eye. She discusses how to prevent this and also pediatric and renal transplant anesthesia.
