Vattikuti Foundation Hosted NeuroNext Roadshow in Mumbai

14 March 2026

The Vattikuti Foundation hosted the Mumbai edition of its NeuroNext Roadshow on March 14, 2026, at Hotel Novotel Mumbai International Airport, as part of its nationwide initiative to advance awareness and access to innovative neurological care.

The Mumbai forum brought together an experienced panel of national and international experts, including Dr. Gopal Krishna (KIMS Hospitals), Dr. Manish Ranjan (Morgantown, West Virginia), and Dr. K. Vijayan (Royal Care Hospital, Coimbatore). The session was moderated by Dr. Aniruddha A. Bhagwat, M.Ch. Neurosurgery. Participation from global neurological experts further strengthened the clinical depth of the discussions.

The sessions focused on emerging treatment approaches for neurological movement disorders, with particular emphasis on MR guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS). Discussions addressed common patient perceptions, including the understanding of MRgFUS as a treatment limited to tremor control. Experts highlighted its broader clinical applications in select cases, including symptoms such as stiffness, slowness, walking difficulty, dyskinesia, and dystonia.

The forum included interactive patient engagement sessions, where attendees had the opportunity to directly consult with specialists. Key topics included treatment outcomes, suitability, and long-term considerations. Discussions also addressed concerns related to cost and recurrence, reinforcing the importance of transparent, evidence-based dialogue between patients and clinicians.

The Mumbai roadshow highlighted the need for continued collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem, including clinicians, institutions, industry stakeholders, and policymakers, to improve accessibility to advanced treatment technologies.

As part of the NeuroNext initiative conducted from March 13–15, 2026, the Mumbai forum contributed to the Foundation’s efforts to bridge the gap between medical innovation and patient awareness, enabling more informed healthcare decisions.
