Vattikuti Fellow Earns Awards

1 October 2026

One of the many advantages that young surgeons in the Vattikuti Fellowship Program have is that the Vattikuti Foundation fully funds travel to an international and national specialty conference -when work summitted is accepted. Dr. Harshit Rewari, Vattikuti Fellow under Dr. Gagan Gautam and former Fellow Dr. Puneet Ahluwalia, has had two videos receive recognition for his efforts. Here is what he sent us at the Foundation:

"My video at ERUS 2026 was titled “Navigating Complex Tumours – Tips and Tricks in Robotic Partial Nephrectomy.” It is a teaching video presenting three challenging renal tumour scenarios: a complex hilar mass; a patient with a syndromic condition and eight renal tumours who successfully underwent partial nephrectomy; and a completely endophytic tumour managed with heminephrectomy. The video focused on practical ways to use 3D models, intraoperative ultrasound, indocyanine green with Firefly imaging, and tailored clamping techniques to navigate these cases safely while preserving as much healthy renal tissue as possible. I also participated in YOUCON 2026, the Youth Conclave of the Urological Society of India, held in New Delhi on August 22–23, 2026, where my presentation on Robotic VEIL with single stage lympho-venous anastomosis to prevent postoperative lymphedema was awarded in the Best Video category. It has been an incredible experience learning under the mentorship of Dr Gagan Gautam sir and Dr Puneet Ahluwalia sir. Their expertise in Robotic surgery and Uro-oncology, along with their constant encouragement to improve and innovate, has been invaluable throughout my fellowship. They have also supported my participation in various academic activities, helping me broaden my horizons. I am equally grateful to the Vattikuti Foundation and the entire team for their continuous guidance and support. The fellowship has helped me grow both as a robotic surgeon and as a clinician, and this achievement would not have been possible without the Foundation's support. Thank you so much once again!

We couldn't be prouder! This is the kind of news we love hearing from our Fellows. Of course, none of this would be possible without our Mentor Surgeons. The many Vattikuti Fellowships past and present are made possible thanks to the generosity of the Vattikuti Family.
