Session 6: What’s New in Kidney Transplantation, Humans on the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery

The Vattikuti Foundation sponsored a gathering of some of the most significant surgeons in Robotic Surgery on November 19, 2022, for the Vattikuti Robotic Surgery Symposium: Humans on the Cutting Edge of Robotic Surgery, in Miami. Eleven sessions focused on various topics and specialties, with surgeons from all specialties taking part.

Session 6 is moderated by Drs. Pier Cristoforo Giulianotti & Atsushi Yoshida. We feature two of the top prize winners from the KS International Innovation (Robotic Surgery) Awards: First Prize: ‘Single port robot-assisted kidney transplantation extraperitoneal approach,’ from Jihad kaiak, MD, FACS, FRCS; Third Prize: ‘3D augmented reality guided robot assisted kidney transplant,’ from Dr. Alberta Piana. Prof. Anand Kumar’s entry: ‘Renal allograft with multiple vessels- the robotic rebuttal’ (also a Finalist) rounds out the videos presented in this session.
