This year's Third Place Winner of the KS International Innovation Awards in Robotic Surgery, Dr. Sandeep Nayak, has produced a new video for YouTube, thanking the Vattikuti Foundation. His award was for the video: Robotic-Assisted breast-axillo Insufflation Thyroidectomy (RABIT). He received the Award in Ghent, Belgium on October 7th, during the KS Awards Dinner presented by the Vattikuti Foundation, in conjunction with the ORSI Academy.
The technique developed by Dr. Nayak provides for cosmetically scarless removal of cancerous thyroid tissue in the neck, thanks to the use of surgical robotics.
We thank Dr. Nayak for recognizing the Vattikuti Foundation's role in honoring his work. Incidentally, this is the second year in-a-row he has earned a KS Award. Both times, his entry went through several rounds of adjudication by Foundation and international judging panels before being selected. We sincerely congratulate him once again!
