The continuing goal of the Vattikuti Fellowships has been to provide the best possible options to surgeons, who in turn provide the best care for their patients. This is certainly the case for one woman who recently came to Dr. Vasantharaja Ramasamy at the SAI Uro Clinic in Chennai.
As he posts on YouTube: "This inspiring story is about a 50-year-old woman who faced continuous urination issues after undergoing a major gynecological surgery. Upon investigation, a problem in her urinary bladder was identified. Thanks to advanced robotic surgery, her condition was successfully treated, and she regained her quality of life."
The woman had a continuous urine leak resulting from a prior procedure, but several complications called for a unique solution. Dr. Ramasamy details what transpired in a 3-minute video posted to Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcKstRVUPR0&rco=1
We congratulate him and his team for changing her life for the better (look for a social media post from her family included in his video near the end). Dr. Ramasamy received his Fellowship training from Dr. Ananthakrishnan Sivaraman at the Chennai Urology and Robotics Institute.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the US, all of us at the Vattikuti Foundation giver thanks for our Mentor Surgeons for giving of their time and knowledge to support our Fellows, and for the many Vattikuti Fellows now serving patients the world over.
(We expect the Vattikuti Fellowship application process to be announced mid-2025 for September Fellowships.)
