Vattikuti Fellow Reflects on His Experience

26 September 2025

As this year's class of Vattikuti Fellowships comes to an end, it is encouraging to come across posts like this one on LinkedIn from Dr. Mohammed Ali:

"It's been an honor to be part of the Robotic Uro-Oncology department at Medanta Hospital, under the mentorship of Dr. Gagan Gautam and Dr. Puneet Ahluwalia. It has been a profound privilege to serve alongside such exceptional surgeons, nurses, and support staff. Thank you for providing an unforgettable experience filled with teamwork, learning, and a shared passion for surgery. I will forever cherish the lessons learned and the professional bonds forged here."

As we say here, it truly is a priceless gift- all thanks to the vision of Raj and Padma Vattikuti and their family. We asked Dr. Ali to tell us a little more:

"The Vattikuti Foundation has provided me with an incredible opportunity to work with an exceptional team as a fellow. I deeply appreciate your continuous support and dedication to fostering the growth of fellows. Dr. Gagan Gautam and Dr. Puneet Ahluwalia are remarkable mentors who generously share their experiences and skills, always encouraging me to reach my full potential. They provide honest, constructive feedback and insights in a friendly and supportive environment. Their team is committed to delivering the best possible robotic surgical training through a well-structured program. During the fellowship, I learned to manage and analyze large datasets, and the Foundation actively supported and encouraged research, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences. This fellowship opened numerous doors of opportunity for me. Immediately after completing it, I had the privilege of starting a robotic surgery program at Apollo Hospital, Pune. This opportunity has been a true blessing. Thank you, Vattikuti Foundation, Dr. Gagan Gautam, and Prof. M. Bhandari, for your invaluable help and support."

All of the team at the Vattikuti Foundation congratulate Dr. Mohammed Ali for graduating and moving to a post of high resposibility. Best wishes for continued success!
