Alexandre Mottrie Talks About His Surgical Robotics Award

A global leader in robotic surgery, Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie was awarded the Industry Leadership Award from Surgical Robotics earlier this year (some of us at the VF gave him our votes). He sat down with Josef de Pfeiffer, founder of Surgical Robotics Technology to talk about his journey.
He was in part responsible for acquiring the second da Vinci robot purchased in Europe, which led to his history of not only innovating procedures, but to train others. He reveals that this led to too much time away from his hospital and patients, which led to formation of what has become the ORSI Academy.
In a 10-minute program, we get to hear a lot about what it is like to be a pioneer- and his philosophy on training. (He also gives a glimpse of the future.) Well worth watching this salute to a friend of the Vattikuti Foundation!
