Vattikuti Fellow, Dr. Atanu Kumar Pal, Earns Honors at USI Meet

23 February 2026

One of the best things about a Vattikuti Fellowship is that our Fellows are encouraged to publish and present their work in national and international specialty conferences. Atanu Kumar Pal, our Vattikuti Fellow of Robotic Urologic Surgery at Aster Medicity in Kochi did just that- and informed us at the Foundation that he earned a First Prize. Here's what he sent us:

"An incredibly special milestone at USICON 2026 in Indore.

"It was a proud honor for our team to receive the “Best Video” award at the national urology conference. I had the privilege of presenting our work on robotic IVC thrombectomy in locally advanced renal cell carcinoma—an experience that was both humbling and rewarding.

"My heartfelt thanks to the Vattikuti Foundation for fostering a culture of learning, mentorship, and academic excellence, and for providing us with the opportunity to showcase our research.

"I am especially grateful to my mentor, Dr. Kishore Ta, whose unwavering guidance and encouragement continue to inspire innovation in robotic surgery. This achievement marks the ninth “Best Video” recognition at USICON under his mentorship.

"Sincere appreciation as well to the entire Department of Urology at Aster Medcity, Kochi, for their constant support, confidence, and encouragement.

"Truly thankful for the recognition and for the opportunity to contribute to the growing landscape of robotic urology and uro-oncology."

It's great to see hard work pay off, for yet another Vattikuti Fellow! We add our heartfelt Congratulations to Dr. Pal and his Mentor Surgeon, Dr. Kishore TA. Well Done!
