Dr. Anupama Rajanbabu is a Professor of Gynecologic Oncology at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. “Everything is coming down to the surgeon fior cost saving in Robotics,” she tells the Robotic Surgeons Council of India. “Whether I use three instruments or four insgruments, they are not going to charge it down to the patient.”

Her philosophy is to try to save hospital management extra costs by using the smallest number of robotic instruments needed to safely complete surgery on her patients. One way she does this is by using only two robotic arms for hysterectomy. She explains the disadvantages, but shows how surgeons can overcome them with clear robotic surgery videos. She shares study results with her audience.
