RoboGynIndia 2023 AGRS Oration: Dr. Arnold Advincula

“There’s no better specialty built for Robotic Surgery than Gynecology!” says Robotic Surgery Pioneer Dr. Arnold Advincula, who first used robotic surgery in 2001. Prof. Dr. Arnold Advincula, of the Sloan Women’s Hospital, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, was the recipient of the title of ‘AGRS Orator’ for RoboGynIndia 2023 conference, held in Hyderabad by the Association of Gynaecological Robotic Surgeons of India (AGRS). In his far-reaching presentation, he described how Gynecologic Oncologists “..take care of some of the hardest stuff…” thanks to robotic technology. His interesting presentation shared of some of his personal history, but also covered other topics, like competing with other specialties for robotic uses, new surgical techniques and future surgical developments. The Vattikuti Foundation is proud to have had a part in the 2-day meeting, which was held on the 12th and 13th of August at the Sheraton Hotel, Hyderabad, India.
