Robot Assisted Completion Surgery/Staging in Gynecologic Malignancies- An Experience

Dr. Rama Joshi, Director, Gynae Oncology, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gugaon, reports to the Robotic Surgeons Council of India about a cohort of patients who had previously undergone surgery for gynecological malignancies at another institution- but needed further surgery for gynrcologic cancers. The goal, to evaluate treatment, including surgery and possible chemotherapy and/or radiation to improve quality of life.

The extent of cancers recurring in the study group required extensive surgical effort in some cases, but was performed successfully robotically. She discusses adjuvant treatment for follow up care and long term results.
