Session 2: Recent Advances in Intraoperative Detection of Nodal Metastases in Prostate Cancer

The role of PSMA radioguided surgery in primary staging of prostate cancer patients undergoing radical prostatectomy.

The Vattikuti Foundation hosted a live Master Class via Zoom with some of Europe’s leading prostate cancer researchers: “Recent Advances in Intraoperative Detection of Nodal Metastases in Prostate Cancer,” on February 24, 2023. This is the second segment if the Master Class, which was presented by Dr. Giorgio Gandaglia.

While introducing this session, Dr. Giorgio states that up to 80% of pelvic lymphadenectomies may be “unnecessary, and useless.” These can yield complications. Molecular imaging can now be used to “change the management pod patients, before surgery.” Lecture, with PPT’s, robotic surgery videos, discussion follows, 16:38

(The complete Master Class is available on the website below- as will all of the individual segments as they are available.)
