I entered this field of robotics only after I got the Vattikuti Fellowship. Since then, there has been no looking back. I got a sense of direction in my urology career as one thing led to another after my fellowship. I realised that robotics and minimally invasive surgery is something that I always wanted to do. I have grown in confidence due to my association with Vattikuti, not just because of the fellowship, but also in view of multiple conferences, webinars & academic activities the Fundation promotes. Hoping for a long association with them!

It was indeed a great privilege to have received this truly wonderful Vattikuti fellowship, it has made me refine my operative skills and grip of anatomy by having the luxury of ultra magnification and dexterity of the Da Vinci system. I would like to express my sincere thanks to my mentor and the entire team from the foundation.

"I am very thankful to Vattikuti Institute for giving me multiple opportunities to learn robotic surgeries. I remember when during my residency days, I got the scholarship to attend the Robotic Surgeon Council of India in the year 2017 that built my interest in robotic surgeries. After 2 years, I was selected for the International 2 weeks travelling fellowship at RPCI, Buffalo, NY. I also had 2 years robotic fellowship at AIIMS, Delhi. Recently I am working as an Assistant Professor, Urology at IMS, BHU, Varanasi. My motto is to start the robotic programme here for needy patients."

Honestly, the Vattikuti fellowship has helped me a lot in shaping my career. Immediately after the fellowship I could start the robotic program on my own at a tertiary care institute, that too without any trained robotic surgeon around in the hospital. I could perform a good number of a variety of cases including a few complex and challenging cases which gave me tremendous confidence and boost required to set a good practice. Because of this fellowship, I could also do academic activities in form of international presentations, national presentations in the award category and a few publications. This fellowship has also given me an opportunity to be in contact with the national stalwarts in my field. In short, I would forever be grateful to the Vattikuti team and my mentor for opening so many avenues which I never thought I could get.

It was a wonderful experience to be a part of the Vattikuti fellowship at Gurgaon Medanta. Learnt a lot from the giants of Urology not only in the field of robotics but transplant and laparoscopy as well. The Vattikuti Foundation gave me a great platform to build my future. Presently working as a Consultant Urologist at Medanta Lucknow and eagerly waiting for Robotic surgery to start here. Hopefully, my career ahead would be bright in the field of robotics and undoubtedly if it happens, the credit would go to my association with the Vattikuti fellowship program. Thanks to Dr Bhandari and Vattikuti team for giving me this opportunity!

"The Vattikuti Foundation fellowship with Dr Gagan Gautam has indeed changed my career perspective and I can proudly say that it was the decision making a step in my career. It gave me the opportunity to garnish my training by consolidating my Uro-oncology training at Tata Memorial Hospital and Royal College of Surgeons' of England Robotic Fellowship at Lister Hospital, UK subsequently. The VF also gave me the platform for the perfect balance of clinical work as well as academics and it has certainly changed my orientation of looking at the work profile for myself. Currently, I am leading the Uro-oncology and robotic surgery program at Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai and trying my level best to take up things forward both clinically and academically. I am always indebted to Dr Gagan Gautam, the Foundation and Prof Bhandari for the opportunity and support. "

Vattikuti Fellowship sowed the seeds for my interest in robotic surgery. This association helped me to secure a robotic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Global robotics institute, Fl under Dr Vipul Patel. Also, the VCQI database was my very first exposure to a real database. I learnt how to develop, maintain and analyze large data. The expertise that I gained in the Vattikuti Fellowship helped me to handle the large database at the Global robotics institute and helped me to be very effective in meaningful publications.

The Head-Neck Robotic Surgery fellowship from Vattikuti Foundation has been instrumental in helping me build my skills in robotic surgery in Head and Neck surgery and it has helped me in taking the robotic head and neck surgery program at Medanta-The Medicity forward. Along with the clinical progress, the fellowship also helped me in generating high impact prospective data and publishing first of its kind results of TORS in HPV negative OPSCC in some of the leading medical journals of the World (European Journal of Surgical Oncology; Oral Oncology etc.)

To be honest, getting associated with Vattikuti Foundation has proven to be a turning point in my professional life. The mentorship , guidance and support from Dr Mahendra Bhandari and the whole VF has been stupendously huge and has shaped my career. The most amazing thing about VF is that they don't just stop at providing us the opportunities for Robotic training but also provide a persistent support to push our limits and get settled in our career path. I can't thank VF enough for what they have done for me. And now getting the opportunity to be a part of VF Alumni is a great honour for me. This would give us a chance to guide our youngsters and also be a part of all academic and patient education activities of the Vattikuti foundation. I wish VF all the success in all its endeavours.

As an intern, I was intrigued with the pathophysiology of cancer and wanted to pursue a speciality course in it. After completing my Urology residency, I had only options of going to the US to pursue my passion and learn new treatment protocols. The Vattikuti fellowship program provided an opportunity to pursue the subspecialty of Uro-oncology in India and gave me a platform to understand an important skillset and technology that is robotic surgery on the DaVinci platform. This is a one-year program available to Indian aspirants who aspire to go to the US to pursue the same but are unable to do so due to logistic reasons.
