daVinci Salvage Prostatectomy, Following Prostate Brachytherapy

In this Intuitive Surgical video, moderated by Dr. Greg Lovallo and performed by Dr. Mutahar Ahmed from the New Jersey Center for Prostate Cancer and Urology at the Hackensack University Medical Center. This video begins internally. Port placement is not covered. We see a posterior approach, rather than their “usual” anterior approach due to factors including radiation therapy previously to the patient. Dr. Lovallo keeps up a good description and offers suggestions and tips while we observe Dr. Ahmed’s procedure. Careful cauterization is discussed as well as suturing while dealing with the radiation scars.
