Canadian IGAR Breast Cancer Robot- Truly Space Age

Robotic technology originally designed for the International Space Station is finding its way into healthcare by targeting breast cancer tumors: Canadian researchers have developed an MRI-Guided robot capable of being controlled remotely called IGAR. IGAR technology and software originated from the robotic arm and ‘Dextre’ robotic manipulator being used for external tasks on the International Space Station. IGAR recently has been licensed for commercialization in Canada, the U. S., and globally.
