Robot Assisted Partial Nephrectomy in Complex Renal Masses: Our Experience

“The partial nephrectomy has become the standard of care…” claims Dr. Anant Kumar, Chairman – Urology, Renal Transplant, Robotics and Uro-Oncology Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. His review of data before the Robotic Surgeons Council of India compared patients with low-volume tumors to those with more complex tumors. He also uses robotic surgery video to show an example of a complex tumor.

He provides an example of a 74-year old patient with a 6 cm. hilar mass in the upper pole Left Kidney, showing MRI, ultrasound imaging and videos of his procedure. He explains his steps and reasons for them. He encourages his audience to not be reluctant to do more complex tumors as their case experience grows. Lecture, with PPT’s, MRI and robotic surgery footage. 06:09
