Robotic Kidney Transplant with Regional Hypothermia- the First U.S. Transplants

This documentary takes a look at the history behind the Vattikuti Urology Institute and Medanta Vattikuti Robotic Surgery Institute collaborating to develop a new means of kidney transplantation. The method, devised by VUI Chair Dr. Mani Menon, uses ice slush to keep the kidney cold while the transplant is being completed inside the recipient’s body.
